The engine is produced in the late 1950th. Last owner is Jens Jensen, Knebel, Denmark.
The engine was mounted "used" in a fishing vessel called "Margit" in 1962, which originally was a Swedish boat build at the Swedish shipyard Carl Jönsson in 1927. The lenght of the boat was approx. 30 feet and the weight was brutto 9 tonne and netto 2 tonne.
It was not originally build with an engine. Not until 1932 was an engine added and that was a Hundested.
The boat was scrapped around 1990 but the Hein engine was saved and it is the only known of this special model still existing.
The engine was originally delivered to Ernst Christensen Nørholm, Denmark, in November 1957.
I have had the engine under restoration for the last 10 years.
I would probably not have succeeded if I had not along the way gotten help from Per Rømer. A big thank you to you, Per.
(
see Per Rømers Youtube channel here.)
This video is the very first start of the engine. I could not get the engine running in the right direction, which is in clockwise seen from the flywheel. So it is running anticlockwise.
I found out that I have made a mistake with the injection timing. Probably because most engines are running anticlockwise. It will be corrected before I make a new video.
A big thank you to my son Kevin who has assisted me along the way. And not least to my wife Sandra who has taken care of the painting work and the video.
See the many pictures from the restoration process in the picture gallery.
Have fun; it is a salvating sound.
